Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for a Senior Account Executive / Marketing Actuary in our Toronto office within the Life/Health Business Unit.
The emphasis of this role is on the development of our Life and Health Canadian book of business. This is a self-starting, client relationship role which demands the management of successful relationships, not only with clients but within the organization. The contained, flat structure necessitates considerable cross-functional interaction and cooperation with colleagues to ensure that client needs, and expectations can be met as we build our Canadian business. The role initially focuses on the acquisition of new clients and eventually the account management activity of existing clients. This means a breadth of skills in the business development space and the ability to think longer term on business wellbeing, not just the short-term win. Maturity, diligence, sense of purpose and responsibility are key, as this post-holder is one of a very few individuals publicly representing the brand and its quality to the wider world.
Due to the need for specific technical knowledge, the role suits someone with an actuarial background, 5–10 years post qualified. The role also requires some pricing experience and knowledge of pricing for the Canadian markets.
Combined with the nature of the role itself, what is described is a person with the analytical mind and attention to detail of an actuary with the interpersonal skills, creativity, strength of character and intuition associated with truly exceptional relationship managers.
