We currently offer an excellent opportunity for an Enterprise Capital Return and Risk Management Professional in our NEAM office located in Farmington, CT.

Your Role:

A polished, quantitative-oriented professional in the areas of actuarial, investment, enterprise risk and capital management solutions for and within the P&C insurance industry, our successful candidate will play a key role in helping NEAM provide its clients with asset allocation, portfolio optimization, asset liability management, advanced risk analytics, and enterprise capital management tools and solutions that have been developed to meet the unique needs of the insurance industry globally.

Working directly with NEAM’s internal team of professionals, the successful candidate will continue to monitor the suite of solutions-based offerings while providing the necessary research and intellectual rigor to monitor global issues relevant to continuing to provide our clients with forward looking solutions. Additionally, we seek an individual who has the proven ability to work and communicate effectively with internal and external constituents. This person must have excellent interpersonal skills, the intellectual curiosity to stay engaged, the desire to improve our enterprise capital management offering and the passion to build evolving client relationships with innovative solutions.

The successful candidate must have meaningful operating experience gained through actuarial, underwriting, predictive analytics, asset/liability management, reinsurance optimization and/or capital allocation disciplines in insurance/reinsurance, consulting, and asset management.

Expected time allocation among key activities:

  • Tools and analytics development and improvement (40%)
  • Client asset allocation analysis and delivery (25%)
  • Thought leadership research and publications (20%)
  • Marketing, speaking and prospecting (15%)


  • Eight to twelve (8-12) years of meaningful operating experience in quantitative / analytical roles performing functions relevant to this role.
  • Proficiency using programming languages / tools to illustrate mathematical applications and develop relevant prototypes / widgets for system implementation.
  • Demonstrated research capability to identify issues, hypothesize solutions, research and demonstrate arguments, and develop relevant findings and business applications.
  • Proven thought leadership to identify emerging trends and developments affecting insurance asset management business and articulate implications to insurance enterprise capital and risk management services and offerings.
  • A solid understanding of current risk management technologies used to manage risk across the differing needs and spectrum of insurance companies ranging from globally diversified, multiproduct to mono-line insurance concerns.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with comfort leading discussion in small group setting, interacting with C-suite individuals and board members, and presenting at industry conferences.
  • Knowledge of and experience with aspects of the property and casualty marketplace including plan design, pricing, benchmarking, accounting, financial management and analysis including experience with financial projections and administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to “roll up your sleeves” and work as part of project teams.
  • Global exposure to the insurance industry and trends relevant to this position; international experience is a plus.
  • Experience leading and managing client relationships; proven ability to connect with the target audience.
  • Experience participating in marketing and business development activities; manning conference booths, prospect networking, RFP response, sales pitch preparation and presentation.
  • FCAS/FSA/FIA/CPCU/CFA/FRM/CPA designations preferred
